what kind of memory for this computer?

Here is what my build is going to look like soon

cpu: intel c2d e6600
mobo: either Gigabyte DS3L or Abit ip35-e, not sure yet
HD: western digital 250gb SATA 3.0gb/s 16mb cache
Video card: HIS Radeon HD 3850

i won't overclock right away when i get the cpu, mobo and ram, but i might near the future. Im looking to get 2gb (1gb x 2) of ram. can anyone help me out? thanks!

edit: okay i think i change my mind, im debating whether i should get a (2 x 1gb) or spend more money and get a (2 x 2gb).

You'll be fine with 2GB in XP. Rather spend you're cash on the GPU (3870, 8800GT).

Unless you are strapped for cash right now, get the 2 x 2gb. It's less than $100 if you shop around.

Do you already own the E6600? Are you getting it cheap (like clearance at Fry's)?

It's a solid chip but it's outclassed now, so don't pay full price for it.

friend is selling me his e6600 he got at frys, still unopened for $140.

Also, ill be using XP, and i think i will keep my HD 3850 because im strapped of cash.

So what kind of ram should i get? g-skill? crucial ballistix?
