Want to send a letter to an insurance adjuster that CANNOT be signed for by a mail room and that will require this person themselves to sign for it.

What am I looking at as far as postal mail is concerned?

all mail (usps, ups, fedex) just requires a signature, not necessarily from the person it is mailed to. shouldn't your adjuster be somewhat close to you, drive there?

I beg to differ, registered mail just is advanced tracking, at every point there is someone who signs for it (a postal employee); however, once it reaches a consignee the package is released. you will know who signs for it but if its at the address it will be delivered.

i thought certified was direct delivered or picked up? whenever i was delivered a certified letter notice i had to personally go to the PO and sign for it, no representatives allowed. mail man wouldnt even allow my spouse to sign for it, left the notice with her to give me.

The term you are looking for is Restricted Delivery. From the USPS website:

Restricted Delivery
Be sure your mail gets into the right hands.
When you want your mail to reach a specific recipient, use Restricted Delivery.

Sometimes, you might have private or highly classified documents that you require to be seen only by the addressee. Restricted Delivery ensures that your mail is only delivered to the person you specify, or to the person authorized in writing to sign for intended recipient.
