It's in a common area in a building unfortunately. I reported the light bulb burnt out to management and someone came and removed the old bulb but I'm guessing whoever came didn't have a replacement bulb with the correct base so now the sconce is just hanging on the wall with no bulb.

Being a crappy fluorescent it might not even be the bulb, could be the transformer.

Wouldn't it be unfortunate if "somebody" vandalized the place and took that light?
All that was left were just some capped off wires hanging out of the electrical box.
I suppose that could pose a safety hazard, they would need to address that quickly.
They are lucky to have such good residents pointing out issues, and offering advice.
