i have a kt7a motherboard and a 700 mhz duron with 256 mb ram... i heard that if i connect the L1 bridges together ... with lead... it will be overclockable... but i was wondering ... if the different lead matters... hb, 2b, 3b??? also... any ill effects when done???and what kind of speed should i expect??

I think the darker the lead the better it will be, yes you connect the L1's, you might have to replace them every 2 months or so..not sure
as for overclcoking it depends which code it has, i have a 600mhz AKBA and that overclocks pretty well.
This Might Help
good luck

EDIT: sorry put a wrong link to athlon codes instead of duron

breaka504: i have overclocked a dozen Durons and Athlons by using the "pencil trick." Don't try to make it more complicated than it is. I use whatever 0.5mm mechanical pencil I happen to have handy at the moment. I have a 700 Duron that's been running stable at 1083GHz (10.5*103) for over 6 months and I haven't replaced or touched up the lead even once.

Yup, would also like to throw in my piece..

I've been using this Duron 700 for about 5 months now, it runs stable on 8.5 x 110 = 935mhz. I used a mechanical pencil with HB lead, as i find 2B flake easier and its harder to make a fine line that small. Btw, congrats!! I bet if u chuck on a better HSF you can break the 1Ghz mark! :)
