So I was driving to school today and a large group of bikers decided to drift out of the bike lane into my lane. They continued to drift into my lane pushing me into on coming traffic. Now I'd rather hit a bike or in this case the biker hit me than get in a head on collision. Fortunatly they figured out that there was a car next to them and screamed and went back to their lane.

But my question is that kind of laws are there in regards to bike ridding, basically the way I see it is even if the biker Fs up just because I'm in a car it will be my fault. (My town is insanely enviromental/liberal and "bike friendly")

I believe you mean cyclists, and not bikers(they ride motorcycles). Cyclists are supposed to ride on the street and not on the sidewalk, they should use the bike line if one exists. They also have the right to ride in the road and not use the bike lane if they wish. The rule on bike lanes is that cars can't be in them but bikes don't have to be. Most cyclists will ride in the bike line, and even if there isn't one they will stay to the right of the lane so cars can get past, but if they don't feel that this is safe the have the right to ride right down the middle of the lane.

Actually that part about not having to use the bike lines was from a UK site, still looking for something on us laws. I know in Louisville it is illegal to ride a bike on the sidewalk.

I dont mind them using the road, but what bothers me is that they feel that traffic laws dont apply to them. They run stop signs, ride up to the front at traffic lights, etc...

Do you have an estimated count of the total number of cyclists? How many abreast (side-by-side) were they riding? Did you honk your horn?
