I work with space systems, mostly astrodynamics. There are a few physics degrees, though most are math or engineering of one flavor or another.

Physicist. :D

Seriously: NASA engineers, Power plans (Nuclear) engineers are just two examples.

Hmm I guess. What about like basic physics like dropping and falling and throwing and stuff like that. Forensics does a lot of falling and throwing work.

Wow. no-one mentioned that a degree in Physics, is *extraordinarily useful* these days, in the video-game industry? Seriously. If you're a laid-off NASA engineer, go find a large game studio house to work for. They can more than likely use you.

A physics degree really gives you a pretty wide variety of job options. Physics people generally have good problem solving skills, so they are pretty desireable by a lot of different industries.

The world has a lot more research grants available than qualified researchers. Physicists are prime researchers, even at the M.S level.
