what kind of heatsink should i buy?

hello
i want a heatsink for myAMD64 754 but i don't know which one, i heared that zalman is the best, but is it still? with all the new fanless and heatpipes and all.....
shouldn't i but, heatpipes, or fanless or tower instead of zalman?

i have EPOX 8KDA3+ and a thermaltake tower case.

Bit heavier, but not buy much. Both are about 800 grams I think. The Cu cools better but also not by much. Stick with the AlCu and save 10 bucks.

I second BW. When I built my new system this summer one of the important goals was to build it quiet. With the 7000alcu and a Sonata case I have a whisper silent combo.

I second that. The AlCu is at least 200g lighter and the performance difference is so small that you can't really mesure it. For about $30 the 7000AlCu is the best hsf you can get (for that price). If you have a little more money to spare, take a look at the Thermalright XP-90/ XP-120 or the Zalman 7700 which is a larger version of the 7000 using a 120mm fan.
