What kind of graphics card would I need

Without getting into the stupid details like fans and drives or whatever, I have a good base model computer with 3.5ghz and 512 ram. But I only have an 128mb FX5600. I want to get a new card but not one that's so new it's retarded to spend the money on one right now. What card is suitable enough to run BF2 practically maxed out to reasonable proportions? :S
 
There's no way you'll be able to run BF2 if you're not willing to spend alot.
You'll probably be looking at R520 Crossfire or G70 SLI to run it fully maxed out.
 
up your ram to at least 1GB in total and get an X800 or higher, or 6800GT range card. an X800XT or X850XT or a 6800ultra or GT@Ultra would be ideal.

you need more ram... BF2 requires 1gig.. and they recommend 2 gigs..

my system A64 3200 1 gig ram 6800 GT runs it "ok" not great but ok.. this game is definatly written more with the future in mind...

2 gigs and a Nvidia 7800 on any 3+ ghz machine would prolly be good...
