What kind of goodies have you found on discarded machines?

I like to go to my local lanfill every once in awhile and see what kind of hardware people are throwing away. I think my two best finds were...
1: A couple drives from Wells Fargo bank complete with thousands of peoples account information. This was a local bank that was bought out by Wells Fargo and apparently the tech-guys just decided to throw out the old machines with everything on them.

Secondly, and probably more interesting, a machine from the local probation office in my home town. I spent hours digging around on that machine.

Good to know just how safe our data is. Every find anything interesting on discarded machines?

mostly revealing pics from working on friends/aqcantinances pcs.

i have a big sticker that i know they have all seen that says
"i read your email"

That's the nice part about it, no diving required. Instead it's all stacked neatly and waiting for me. Two weeks ago i found a perfectly good Emac 700mhz/384mb/40gb/geforce2/airport/combodrive...and it was clean.😀

Buy some used hard drives off ebay and then use a data recovery program on them. You can find all kinds of good stuff.
