What kind of deals are you getting in in 2009?

I'm working with several Honda dealers, I got them to point that they are offering over $4000 off MSRP for new Accord EX V6...

it seems to be same story for almost any manufacturer, with American three leading all, but with little luck as their sales are very down compared to last year.

Anybody else has good/bad experiences?
This seems to be dream year to buy a new car if you got $ + fairly stable job.

I wouldn't. I plan on waiting at least 2-3 months until all the dust settles. I won't be buying new anyway. Used car prices are falling as well, ya know.

Well you better wait 6 months or year or more... the interest rate is not going to be nice when you have been on your job for less than 2 yrs.

I've already got a pretty high credit limit established and have a FICO score of over 730.

kudos to you, what else I can say, it is tough to build or maintain credit while you are in school

there are going to be many new models for 2010, so waiting is not bad at all.

I've had two steady jobs since I started school four years ago, and have been paying for literally everything on credit cards, then paying the bill off weekly. 🙂

Yeah, 2010 looks like it's going to have a ton of exciting models. I may look into getting a new '08 model at the end of this year. There's bound to be tons of them lying around on lots.

$900 (MSRP) off a 2009 Civic in 'accessories', namely rust proofing, trunk mat and floor mats. This was in late December.

That's what happens when all the impatient pussies of the family go new car shopping for the first time in their lives. Surprisingly, I was not among this group. In fact, I specifically told them to wait.

My friend had her heart set on a Lexus RX350 (it's an SUV). I worked the deal and we went to buy it last week. Navigation and luxury package included for a couple hundred over invoice minus $5000 factory rebate. That's $10K under MSRP.

???
I bought a 2004 Honda Accord new right out of grad school. I had a job offer that I had already accepted. I took that car for a couple hundred over invoice, and I walked into the dealership with a 3.25% loan. Honda Finanacing beat that with a 3.0% rate and I took it.

I paid off my car last weekend.

Before my Honda, I was driving a 1987 Chevy S10.

In this economy that's almost insulting. That's all I saw at Subaru, too. I know they are up in year over year sales, though, I guess they are golden now.

My local mazda dealer has 08 CX-7s for about $25,500, which is around 6k off msrp. He had two new 07's that had been on the lot, but were still brand new with no real miles, for $19,500. That's actually super fricking cheap for a sport SUV, even if it's not a huge one. They are still there, though since I heard about this a few weeks ago.

Good stuff, new cars are almost always the wrong play.

LOL, that's shameful.

2004 != 2009, lending rates are generally higher now.

Last month when I was looking at some Evos, I saw a number of GSRs with Aero package, SSS package, and Navigation for around $32k. They also had some MRs for around $34k. At the time they had 0% financing for 60 months too.

Had I had the money at the time, I probably would have jumped on one of them.

I heard dodge will pay you $25/mo to park one of their new Rams at your house. (They need the space) I don't trust them though, transmission will probably explode and leak all over my driveway.

These look really nice. We have a relative that sells these in town close by...they are still a lot of money..and doubt they are budging on them very much...i cannot afford 40 grand right now.
