What kind of creatine to get?

I heard the liquid form is the best and fastest absorbed.

but also degrades the fastest (can't keep it).

Regardless, it all goes away once you stop using it. It's just water weight, so why bother?

You use it when you work out.. gives you that extra bit of energy. Of course you won't get any muscle mass by just taking creatine and not work out at all.

I know, but still, why not just push yourself harder and have real muscle mass? If you continue to work out and stop taking it, you lose almost all that you gained. In fact, almost everyone I know that's taken creatine has either lost the weight once they stopped, or only gained 2 net pounds.

MYTH.

Solubilized creatine is very unstable and quickly forms creatinine. Any packaged liquid creatine will surely have coverted to creatinine by the time you consume it.

As for the OP, micronized creatine monohydrate is the way to go. Lifters recommend using any product that uses Creapure creatine (it says "Creapure" on the side of the bottle) as it is of higher quality. Creatine should also be ingested with sugar, preferably dextrose or any high GI sugar, to induce an insulin spike which stimulates creatine uptake into the muscle cells. How much sugar, with how much creatine is up for debate; but, I've generally heard that 5g creatine w/ 8oz grape juice is the way to go.

You answered your own question. Creatine allows you to push your self that much harder (meaning you can do more reps before failure). AFAIK after creatine use is discontinued, the strength gains remain. What is lost is the "bulk" that appears from water weight.

That being said, creatine != Weight Gainer.

Also, 2 net pounds is significant if you factor in weight loss associated with strength/cardio training and increased metabolism.

What are you talking about?

Creatine is proven. It's been around. Studies have been done. It works.

Pro athletes use this stuff by default. Almost all serious college players use it. High schoolers too.

As for the OP's question, I would use the Creatine Ethyl Ester. It's no-load, and doesn't ruin your 'cut' with water/bloating associated with regular monohydrate. Better than 95% of the creatine out there is monohydrate, but I'd stick to CE2 if you can spare the extra cash.
