Ordered a part from IBM/Lenovo... Shipped express from Hong Kong (2nd day air)

Ships from HK -> Alaska, held there for 2 days while its waiting for customs clearance, then released.

Travels from AK -> KY, where suddenly, its back in customs again "THIS SHIPMENT IS WAREHOUSED UNTIL IT IS RELEASED BY CLEARING AGENCY;BROKERAGE RELEASED SHIPMENT. SHIPMENT IS SUBMITTED TO CLEARING AGENCY FOR FURTHER CLEARANCE" for another 2 days...

So i call them up tonight and i'm told 'Sorry, i can't tell you when its gonna be delivered. In fact, im really not permitted to discuss this package with you.' Eh? Can't discuss my shipment? WTF.
 
Wow... I ordered from IBM a heatsink/fan for my thinkpad that was out of warranty. It was delivered to my door the day after I ordered it FROM HK!!!
I live in in Finland, so I guess thats equally far away. US customs... 😛

In all seriousness, though, that really sucks. It's just a laptop part, from a major manufacturer. What are the odds that it's full of illegal mexicans or something?
 
They can't discuss the shipment because they can't prove your identidy over the phone.

Customs doesn't give a crap about your second day shipping. 🙁
 
If it was something you paid for, possibly they're trying to arrange for some sort of duty/tax or something.

Without delving too much into details I can tell you with a 100% certainty that UPS has absolutely NO SAY in what packages are scrutinized by Customs and how long they will be held.
 
Dont you guys know UPS hired Chuck Norris to roundhouse your package to your house to keep costs down? But his kick is so powerful that the package goes airborne and passes the earths atmosphere where it reaches space and orbits the earths for 10 days until it falls back to earth.
