What kind of console cable for these 3COM switches? Pinout included

I picked up a pair of 3COM SuperStack III 4400 SE 24-port 10/100 switches for free. I have no idea about their current configuration. I want to get a console cable to gain access to the CLI and try to reset the configurations back to default, and then just mess with them, build a test lab, etc...

My computer does not have any serial ports, but the console cable connection is a male DB-9 connector.

I found the following cable online:

FTDI is from what I have heard, the best serial to USB adapter chipset. But that particular cable uses a male DB-9 connector, I need a female connector. Of course there are simple adapters, but I am wondering if the pinout will be identical to work with a simple adapter.

Here are the console connection pinouts usable by the switch:

I am confused because I thought a null modem cable is DB-9 to DB-9 but the documentation for the switch indicates it is DB-9 to DB-25?

What about the middle option, the PC-AT serial cable? Will the cable I linked to above work as is, with a simple male to female adapter?

Any help is much appreciated! :)

I can provide any additional information on request!
