not sure exactly what it is... but it is fast

I live in an off-campus apartment; they have ethernet jacks in all the bedrooms.
I'm guessing it is a fractional T-3 or something

2500kbit/512kbit Cable Modem. Had it for 5 years now. What is 56k dialup anyways? :confused:

My service is for 1500/384. Real speeds vary (2500+ during non-peak hours / 50k-300k at peak times). Uploads are much slower, always at 120.

Cable installed Thursday. I get about 500KB/s (Yes, that's kiloBytes, I always get the letters right!). I upgraded to Debian 3.0 (211MB) in about 7 minutes.

Sweet campus lan. I average faster upload than download speeds, with downloads on average over 6,000 kbps. :D
