I want a tubby cat like this. Is there a specific breed that gets this chubby? or is this just a lard ass cat?

I've always wanted a garfield looking cat, and this face reminds me of him. lol

Fat, coat's a mess, doesn't look happy. He is copping a feel though.

Maine my excellent compatriot, notice the tuffs on the ears.

For them large is normal, 20-30 lbs not unusual, although that one in the picture is overweight even for that breed.

Do you live in Atlanta? I have a cat like that that I would give to a good home.

I had a cat that was def 50% or more maine my excellent compatriot, it grew to quite a beast, nothing like in the OP though. Id say a good 17-20lbs though.

Generally, when a cat gets that big, it is usually (not always) a male cat.
We had one once that got like that. He used to pick on all the 3 other cats
we had. He is gone now.

That is awesome. I want one. Our cats are 18 and 20 pounds, both orange tabby's, still way smaller than these pictured in this thread.
