I'm buying a new computer, and I would like to know which cases/PS are good. Would 350W suffice? I was thinking about getting the Fong Kai FK-603 (as listed in Anand), but I was thinking it might be small if I add another HD later. Also, do ALL ATX power supplies fit into an ATX case? Here's my planned specs:
2 x 256MB Crucial PC2100
EPoX EP-8KHA
IBM Deskstar 45GB
Athlon 1.4GB
Gainward GF3
CD-RW Drive (from my old one)
CD Drive (from my old one)
SB 128 PCI (from old one <-- will upgrade later)
Ethernet card (from old one)
56k Modem

i'm not familiar with the fong kai case so i can't comment...all i can say is that i love my antec sx-830

as for the ps, 300watts should suffice...350watts should be plenty (but keep in mind that the total wattage isn't the only determining factor, it needs to be able to supply enough wattage on specific lines. someone else can better answer this one)

i wouldn't say ALL atx ps's fit in all atx cases, but that's just because i'm not sure enough to say "ALL"...however, i am as sure as i can be that atx will fit atx, hense the standard specification.

Thanks for the info. I'll check that out. As for power supplies, I heard Enermax was nice, so would the EG365P-VE be good?

yeah, enermax psu's work well. antec also makes good psu's.

for a midtower, i'd recommend the sx630/635. the 630 comes with a 300w psu and the 635 comes with a dual-fan 350w psu. i have the 635 and it was built very well. it's very sturdy (and heavy) and all the edges are nice and smooth.

Get the Fong Kai FK-320, its bigger and is not that much more money. You can get it here Directron. Just get it with the enermax 350W PS, since you are running a Athlon. I have the FK-320 with original PS 300W, running daul 1ghz P3. It's a nice case.

Probably best to post this in the cases and cooling forum :)

Anyway given your setup I would suggest a 340W+ as a minimum level for PSu

Not knowing ur budget here are some good options

Antec SX1040 large case, stylish, comes in black or beige and with a nice 400W Antec PSu (appx $110 with PSu)
Enermax/Chenming FS-710B, BB etc. Same case but with no Psu- just add you own (appx $80:case)
Chenbro Genie- fantastic case with some of the best cooling around- just add own Psu (appx $109:case)
Lian Li range (several colours)- light aluminium cases with good default cooling ($150+:case alone)
FK-320 (big brother to the 603: black or beige) larger and around $90 with a 300W- chop and change the Psu
Enlight 7237- can be found for about $65 for with a 340W Psu and is a bit smaller
The ANtec 635 is a bit smaller also but comes with a 350W Psu and looks very nice

All of these cases can probably found cheaper- check out the hot deals forum
