what kind of car is this?

I'm trying find more info on a car I saw a long time ago...It was a sports car, had a double rear spoiler (stock)...brand or model was something like "merkker"...this ring a bell in anyone's head?

Was it Merkur? I remember seeing a car with that name/model before. Not sure who makes it though.
