I have a 1990 Honda Civic CRX Hatchback. :p

It has 125,488 miles on it. It's dirty as sh*t and the front bumper needs to be replaced. Soon to have sounds in it. Will post pics later on.

So what kind of car do you have?

Ricky,

When did you get the new Civic? How is it? Is the suspension as good as the dual-wishbone from the previous gen? Or is it crap?

mztykal,

I've had the new civic for about a month now. I LOOOVE that damn car. Even after a month, it's an absolute joy to get in it and drive. I think the suspension is fine. Then again, all I really care about with the suspension in a car is that it's a nice smooth ride and doesn't feel like the car's gonna tip over when I take curling on/off ramp. As I have said in countless other posts, I don't really care about the "performance" or "fun to drive" aspect of a car, since I am a motorcycle rider. The Yamaha is my daily driver unless it is raining really hard. There's not many street-leagl cars that can touch a good bike in 0-60, 1/4 mile, 0-100, or any of the other tests.... And NO car can beat a bike in fun-to-drive. So, cars are rainy-day and long trip transportation for me. If it feels nice, is quiet, rides smooth, and makes me feel good, I like it. The civic is all of those IMO. :)
Oh, and BTW, I have driven an older civic w/ the dual wishbone, and a 2001 accord, which I believe still has the dual wishbone, and an integra or two. --Doesn't really feel that much different to me. I think the reviews will tell you the same. A good suspension is good not only because of the design, but also because of how well it was MADE in that design. I think the civic has retained a good suspension, despite going to the new design.

Ricky,

That's kewl. As long as you're happy with what you got. And you're right, NO CAR can touch a bike, period. Oh well, I'll post pics of my car as soon as I get done with it. I know everyone wants to see a "riced" out car! ;)

Totally awesome choice for a car, If it ain't for race or it ain't a truck whats the point of all the extra crap. Point A to B is all it's about, and those things get the Milage too.

Oh, and just for the record, I know I say I'm not really that picky abut a car's suspension, but let it be known that I DO run the "fly through an empty parking lot and turn so hard you powerslide" test on every car I test drive. The civic passed my test just fine. It seems very sure-footed.

Haha, I just did that with my '93 Corolla today! I almost drifted off the road today. Went like 45 mph on a "S" turn near my house. Skidded a little but the car held it's own.

SVT,

It's cool to see one of the resident "American car is king" reps saying something nice about a civic. And you're absolutely correct. I've never participated in any of the car threads about car performance, because, like the vast majority of other people on the planet, I see cars as transportation. Nothing more.
And as far as "panty-dropping" goes..... Well, it doesn't take a car to get my wife excited....and I have no business dropping anyone else's. :) She sure did get excited when we got that civic though! ;)

1993 Taurus SHO - daily driver
1966 Mustang Fastback - currently under construction...it will be fuel injected
1966 Shelby GT350H

I have no problem with most Japanese cars as long as the owner realizes that they are good transportation but not a very good platform for displaying your 'individuality'...can anybody say RICE!

Ph34r the white '90 Honda Accord LX...somewhere in the neighborhood of 150k miles. It's a bit problematic for a Honda, though (just recently started leaking power steering fluid), so soon as this one poops out I'll be looking for something new. Not sure what I want, but thinking of perhaps a used Maxima or 200sx SE-R. Still shifting around, though.

Oh totally, Actually on most of the forms people think I'm slamming all their slow imports ;) J/K but actually I post stating the cars they slam all the time are not as bad as they say. It goes in one year and out the other but the point always comes down to Fact Vs Opinion.

Actually I owned a 90 Civic Sedan for awhile, I got the Lightning after life had got going, there is no purpose in getting one when your too young. My wife has a 94 Integra and she won't get rid of it, it has over 130K miles on it, But Honda just makes some serious running cars. I plan on getting a used Civic again actually as a commuter car, The milage is really starting to hurt with all the Gas price increases.

I agree about the Women thing too, thats why the BMW/Blah Blah Blah cars never hit me, I met my wife at a previous job outside of my car, and honestly she could care less, When I met her I had the 90 Civic actually it was just the Sedan you know the BOX years :) but real women don't care about the curves in your car.

I am into performance and I'll be towing a boat soon also, I'm lookin at getting a Baja with a 350 or possibly the 502 in the next few years so the truck will be nice for that too, I hate towing up a hill and Doggin.

96 Honda Accord LX coupe
Closing in on 80k. Still runs like a champ, in the process of putting in my sound systm.

Also working on a kit car with my dad. Shelby Cobra 427. Well not actually 427, went with a 302 to save on weight. Can't believe how much this things weighs though, shouldn't be much more than 2200 after everything's done. Me and my dad can lift the frame with the body on top! Powertrain finally done, suspension done, need to run fuel and brake next, put in the steering column, then it's time for interior and body work, woohoo! We're racing, seeing if I graduate from college first or if the car will get done first, probably going to take at least till then of working on weekends to finish it. Then it'll eat ricers, Camaros, and M5s for breakfast!! 250HP and just as much torque in a 2200 lb car, hehehe. I was thinking about putting a sound system in that too (can you imagine entering a sound comp with a Shelby Cobra? how cool would that be?) but it's added weight, plus wouldn't want anything to drown out those monster exhausts. Going to do a Porsche Spyder next, love those cars.
