What kind of bug could this have been?

We live in a townhouse in Toronto, no cockroaches thank god, but I lifted up a pillow the other day and what looked like a centepede ran out and into the wall, into a crack. It was about 3 inches long, but had very very long legs, not short ones, and had tiger like markings. The other thing it resembled was a gypsy moth in it's larvae / catepillar form.

Any ideas?

Those videos will make me have nightmares. I'm pretty good with bugs but good lord those things just give me chills big time.
