What kind of audio cable do I need for...

connecting an Iwill kk266 mobo (onboard sound) to the cdrom? I have one with a black connector on one end and a white one on the other. I don't think that one works. BTW this is for a pc of someone else's so it's not right in front of me now.

there are two types of audio cables that i know of for connecting a CD/DVD drive to a sound card. One has 2 longer black connectors, each with 4 pins, and the other is the one you describe, the one with the longer black connector and the short white connector with 4 pins. Look on the motherboard for the audio connector...usually there's a place for either the long black connector or the short white connector. Otherwise, you'll have to get an audio cable with the two black connectors.

OK, that's what I was getting at. I am fairly confident the one I have will not work (white on one end, black on the other). I just didn't know if there was any other kind that the one I have and the one with the black connector on both sides. I'll just get the one with the black connector on both sides.
Unless anyone with the Iwill board can advise me on somehting different?
