I mean how many years of education from childhood?
Here in India it like:
first a couple of years in kindergarten,

then 5 years of primary schooling,

then another 5 years in secondary schooling,

then you write a board exam, which is a public exam, to qualify
for the senior secondary/junior college.

then 2 years in senior secondary/junior college after which there's another board exam. then you qualify for the degree level.
so its 12 years of schooling before getting into a college/university for a degree.

The degree can be of 3, 4 or 5 years depending on whether its a normal degree or an engineering degree or a medcal one.

After this comes the specialisation/masters degree.

How is it in USA?

(State funded)
Kindergarten: 0, 1, or 2 years
Grade school: 1st - 5th grade
Middle school: 6th - 8th grade
High School: 9th - 12th grade

(Non-state funded)
College, Associate's Degree: 2 years
College, Bachelor's Degree: Associate's +2 years
College, Master's Degree: Bachelor's +2 years
College, Doctorate: Master's +2 years
Grad School: ???

So basically state funded is 12 years, not counting kindergarten. With kindergarten, as much as 14 years.

Internal structure and procedure varies somewhat, but total number of years is the same.

EDIT: Uh, what Viper said.:)
