Here is a pic of the plug and the details of what is needed (I think):

The size of the plug is about 5mm. I just have no clue what type of AC adapter I need for it like from a power spec side of things. I don't know how to read that stuff or what to search for.

I save a lot of my electronic junk, What I would do is get stuff out of my box of crap, and hack together the connectors needed. I might even have a 24v transformer, but I doubt it.

I'm not sure if you need an AC adapter. It seems like you should have an AC plug for the lights, and the output of your plug is 24V/250mA.

For those types of DC plugs, those are usually the "live" end that supplies the power.

EDIT:
I found this. Try at your own risk...

Anything that can put out 25v and at least 250ma. It can be more than 250ma, it does not matter (lot of people don't seem to realize this) as long as the voltage is not higher.

In fact an automation transformer would technically work... is this just for incandescent bulbs? Guessing it's a Christmas light set?

I need whatever it is called, that plugs into that plug, then goes into the wall. It was a power block basically.

Yes it's for a small Christmas tree that has lights on the branches already.

So, get a 24vdc output transformer say 400ma with a 2.5mm x 5.5mm connector. Cut both connectors off and solder the cables together. Noting polarity first of course.

Okay so something like this would work then right?

And with the little adapter, I wouldn't have to splice the transformer wire, only the wire coming from the tree, and I can just screw it into the adapter instead of soldering.

Perhaps the tree manufacturer stills sells them at a decent price?

Why waste something that works just because of a lost power supply. Splicing wires is not really a big deal. Solder a 24v source to the wires and use shrink wrap and call it a day.
Target has a pre-lit mini tree for $14, not much difference than the price of the adapter, and my labor isn't free.
