Is it true that if you like one of them you can't stand the other one?
I personally go for Letterman, I dunno why, maybe I just got used to it.
Sometimes Leno just seems a little too jerky to me...
 
Leno has better jokes/writers and his band is good, but his guest interviewing isn't that great. Letterman's jokes suck, his band leader is HORRIBLE, and the laugh track is unbearable, but he's better at guest interviews.

Paul Schieffer (Letterman's band leader) is quite a character, I think its on purpuse, so he makes dave stand out a little better. I think Letterman's jokes are fair at least, and he sometimes can hit a jackpot with "tonight's top 10" (the one he did about Lance Armstorng was unbelivably funny).
Guests interviews vary, mostly it depends who he's interviewing.
