My neighbor's flag looks like this...

1. Standard diagonal flag shape
2. Split horizontally - top half is solid black, bottom is white.
3. In the center is a big RED cross that overlays.
3b. The cross has equal sized arms (like Swiss flag cross), has fat blunted ends with concaving (curving inward) middle which makes the arm skinny. Then each arm curves outward slightly to the converging center, making for a fatter center.

What is this? Am I going to die?

Found the cross shape, not the flag. This is close, but arms curve outward a bit towards center.

A cross pattée (or "cross patty" or "cross Pate", known also as "cross formée/formy") is a type of Christian cross, which has arms narrow at the center, and often flared in a curve or straight line shape, to be broader at the perimeter. The form appears very early in medieval art, for example in a metalwork treasure binding given to Monza Cathedral by Queen Theodelinda (d. 628), and the 8th century lower cover of the Lindau Gospels in the Morgan Library. An early English example from the start of the age of heraldry proper (i.e. about 1200) is found in the arms of Baron Berkeley.

Is the flag pointed at Oak Island?

Have you seen him doing some extremely deep excavating?

There's a guy that lives within my circle of travel that appears to collect, and fly flags of various nationalities. I've seen at least a dozen different flags over the years ranging from stars and bars to the EU :^D

Hitler liked ripping things off for show, even the swastika was ripped off from India I believe.
The swastika was used in numerous cultures around the world. Closer to Germany, it was a symbol of Thor.

could be anything from historical reenactments, to crusading fundamentalism, to freemasonry.

Also in boy scouts.

The Origin of the Swastika Emblem in Scouting
From What Scouts Can Do - More Yarns — Baden-Powell, 1921; the full text of which can be found on the Pine Tree Web Site:
"… as you know from the account of the Swastika Thanks Badge which I have given to you in Scouting for Boys, the symbol was used in almost every part of the world in ancient days and therefore has various meanings given to it.
"Anyway, whatever the origin was, the Swastika now stands for the badge of fellowship among Scouts all over the world, and when anyone has done a kindness to a Scout it is their privilege to present him or her with this token of their gratitude, which makes him a sort of member of the Brotherhood, and entitles him to the help of any other Scout at any time and at any place.
"I want specially to remind Scouts to keep their eyes open and never fail to spot anyone wearing this badge. It is their duty then to go up to such a person, make the scout sign, and ask if they can be of service to the wearer."

Yeah, what I was going to post without looking it up.

I believe my grandmother long ago told me that when I was young, is how I have always thought of it.

Hitler liked ripping things off for show, even the swastika was ripped off from India I believe.
Hitler didn't rip anything off here, the Iron Cross was in use in Germany since the early 1800s.

If "Indian Tribe" refers to ... approx 1600000000 Buddhists or Hindus (almost 1/3 global population) ... then yes ...
The Buddhist swastika faces the other direction (mirror image of the nazi one usually)
