I have built my system around christmas, and I have really just been enjoying playing my games at 1600x1200 and haven't had too much time for tweaking and so forth. But now I want to start seeing about tweaking my system. My specs are:

AMD AthlonXP 1800+ @ 1610mhz
Epox 8KHA+
512MB PC2100(crucial)
Visiontek Ti200 @ 225/530 (I seemed to be able to get higher clocks on my old Asus board)
IBM 20GB 75GXP
Western Digital 120GB
SB Live! 5.1

last time I ran 3dmark2k1 I scored about 6750 and Im curious if this is what i should expect or if I could do better. If I can do better, what could I tweak?
thanks,
-doug

PS. I forgot to mention that I'm running WinXP and 3dmark is at 1280x1024 @32bit.

You should be able to get get higher than that... but you don't have to ask here ... you could have just compared your marks with the ones on the madonion site.

I have a similar setup as you for my big dawg rig. You should theoretically be scoring higher then me as your processor is a bit faster as is your Vid card OC. My best run was 8152 so you should be knockin on 8200's door I would say. That was at the default bench by the way.

<< The average for your setup seems to be around 8000, so you're a bit low. >>

As much as I hate to disagree with Amused (after all he is da man at 3dmark2k1 😀 ) I think with a t200, you should expect scores around that area.

Well, I entered in his aprox stats in the comparison dohicky at Mad Onion, and flipped back about 8 pages, and the results were still in the 8000 range. That's what I was basing my opinion on.

However, he did fail to mention that he wasn't running the default test. I've asked him to run the default, and post his scores so we can have a better idea of where he stands.

BTW this IS a gf3 Ti200, right?

I was getting 6000 when using WinME and all the latest drivers.

I switched to WinXP with just the NVidia drivers and now I'm a little over 8000. No change in the hardware, just the OS.

Try the 27.20 reference drivers. You should be getting ~8000 like the others pointed out.

i ran it again at 1024x768 32bit color and got 8035 which seems much better. Im going to check out the new drivers.
thanks,
-doug

I wouldn't mess with it unless you're having compatability problems in games. You're doing pretty good right where you're at where speed is concerned. 🙂
