What Kickstarter or IndieGoGo campaigns have you recently donated to?

I'm feeling generous and am interested in finding a couple interesting projects to support.

Which campaigns if any have you contributed to lately?

I'm a little jaded when it comes to Kickstarter campaigns. I feel like the majority of the site now consists of people putting up low-overhead projects just to make a couple quick bucks.

That being said I have seen some decent causes up there. I didn't donate to his previous Kickstarter but I will be donating to Frank Chimero's next project. I enjoy his writing, and he's a designer that I look up to, so it's worthwhile to me.

Most of my Kickstarter.com backed projects have been in the product design and local categories.

I'm still amazed at how successful some of these projects are.

I was close to doing the one for Nomiku, a sous vide machine.. but I'd rather wait to see how the final product is for something that expensive. Same with Ouya.

Wasteland 2, Shadowrun Returns, and The Banner Saga. I basically got cheap, hopefully quality games and have some measure of input/interaction with the devs. The updates detailing the various development processes have been awesome, would never get this from a publisher-backed studio. I was also happy to see Tex Murphy get funded, even though I didn't contribute.

I'm starting to invest for the first time in my entire life (just opened up an etrade account but haven't bought/sold anything yet... nervously doing research). It also makes me happy to contribute to cool, interesting, inspiring projects that bring more innovation, beauty, and creativity into the world, so if I can give a little here and there it's nice helping to be a part of something bigger.
