what keyboard layout do you use?

no dvorak users huh?

EDIT:i actually thought about switching...but then i would have to learn how to type all over again...and when i go to a friends house wouldnt be able to type anymore...

I can't believe I was the first to vote Dvorak, you guys are not fit to call yourself geeks.

[mine also includes custom added keymaps, for UK-ifying the layout and adding a few extra handy things, so maybe that gives me extra points]

I've converted no less than 3 or 4 people I personally know to Dvorak.

You guys know why keys are arranged on a keyboard the way they are?
No, they weren't shot out of a bazooka.

QWERTY was designed to slow you down, because on typewriters, if two arms came up within a fraction of each other, they would jam.

I don't think the idea was to slow the typist down as much as it was to arrange the keys and their corresponding strikers in a way which lessened or eliminated jams.

I tried dvorak for awhile, but I was at work and it was taking me too long to get stuff done and it really hosed the computer guys when they came around to install stuff on my computer.
