For the last couple of days everytime i open up ie6 my homepage goes to msn.com, normally its blank.
I scanned my comp with the latest version of ad-aware se and spybot, while they found some things, it still didnt get rid of whatever is changing my homepage to msn.com.

I checked every program that starts up in the currentversion\run section of the registry and theres nothing there that im not familiar with, and my virus definitions are upto date.
Anything else i can do here? No firefox suggestions please :)

It's Microsoft doing it. I think it's because of when you apply new updates. Not sure why though...

Anyway, whenever I do a fresh install, the first thing I do is set the default site to BLANK. Then after I apply critical updates it always goes back to the msn.com site!

So, that's why I blame Microsoft.

Switch to Firefox and you won't have to worry. ;)

The only other solution I know of is to keep changing the default site manually every time the damn thing changes.

its hard to say, cheetah may be onto something if its only happening when you do updates, but if its other times than that, i havnt a clue

No plugins/toolbars or messenger stuff. I've been doing windows updates all the time but never ran into this msn.com crap until a couple days ago.

Doesn't Spybot provide a way to lock your home page, prevent it from being changed? I believe I've read that somewhere, but I can't remember where that setting can be found, assuming it does exist.
