I coulda sworn I saw this article a while back. Checked and sure enough, its the same one. From 2014.

Also, does Cosmo even see the irony of them posting a story about ugly women and how the world is obsessed with beauty?

Yea, it's an older article.

The irony? I guess not.

http://www.cosmopolitan.com/lifestyle/news/a32430/ugly-womans-moving-response-to-her-haters/

Came across this article today.

Sad really. There is so much pressure on young women to be pretty. I think guys too. Just not as much as the ladies. The club scene can be so brutal as well. Glad I don't go clubbing anymore.

In all fairness she kinda had it coming...

Life sucks. "Clubbing" is for pretty people. If you can't do that, do something else. No one gives a shit what you look like paddling whitewater. Find something you can do and do it.

Pretty sure there is a tab for every slot, some people just have to lower their standards more than they think they ought to.

If she is in good shape and "ugly" then save money and see a plastic surgeon to work on her face. Korea people are obsessed with that. Some of the before and after pictures are amazing.

I'm calling shens on this. Club/bar + low light + alcohol = NOBODY IS UGLY.

We all have stories we'd rather forget which prove this equation to be true.

Here's what popular talk show host Julie Chen from the Talk looked like before plastic surgery:

Then there are the more extreme cases:

Anyone who's ever had acne for a decent amount of time can probably relate.

The issue is that we try to ignore things that make us uncomfortable but are transient. If someone named the elephant in the room, I imagine the night would have gone differently. And I don't think the elephant is her ugliness. The elephant is their conflict over recognizing her ugliness and not being socially acceptable to acknowledge it. The effect, of course, is that the ugliness is magnified.

Bah, she can still go to your average bar an hour before closing and just sit on a bar stool and have a damn good chance at getting picked up. Ugly men have to work their asses off versus her just waiting for some guy to come pick her up. How many ugly guys do you think show up at a club with no money? At least she got away with entry and drinks for free regardless if anyone hit on her or not. An ugly guy can spend $100 or more to get the exact same results. So cry me a river.

I don't know... an ugly guy can get some serious game with wealth, personality, popularity, and charm/humor.

Girls got it rough... I wouldn't say the same applies for a ugly woman.

I don't understand why women want to be judged by their beauty alone. Is that all they've got? Clubs are where you find someone you think is hot and hook up. It's not a place to get to know someone or for serious relationships.

If she's not hot enough to attract guys with her looks alone, she should go somewhere other than a club to meet a man interested in more than just her physical beauty. An intelligent, funny woman with a good personality may be a 5 in physical appearance but an 8 or 9 when you consider the entire package. In a club she will never be more than a 5.

But if she just wants sex, then the bar is where the less than beautiful people go to hook up.

like it or not, there is a biological imperative in regards to attractiveness. people prefer mates they find attractive. what society deems attractive does not always equate with our personal tastes.

Sure, there is ugly, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Trust me. I've seen some downright ugly couples.

There's always someone out there that's your match.

luckily i have boys.. if i have girls, i would either worry if they are too pretty (then the boys would come knocking the door down). or if the girls are too ugly.
