interesting, can you explain why you thought it was impotent.
just curious.
i find the 5.56/.223 to be a mediocre round for anything other than punching paper

The US Army sees it differently. You know, scientists & shit.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.223_Remington

It worked so well in Vietnam that the Warsaw pact developed a similar round as their standard.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5.45×39mm

They're as good as it gets for combat infantry. Other than that they're too much for rabbits & too little for big game.

but again, no one can define what an assault weapon is, other than by looks
or saying "an ar-15" or "what the military uses"
You could do something regarding magazine capacity, rate of fire, maybe something regarding the energy the round has. This won’t fit your scary gun narrative but it could be done.

no clue, never done that, and no plans to
You do that have to. Others have, for us to see just how effective your low energy ar15 is as a killing machine.

If you have no plans to, then youre a faux 2nd amendment supporter, as that's exactly what the plan would be. Unless you think the overreach of a centralized government is: a) bullshit, or b) not going to involve humans

So you either need the guns, or you don't. Pick one.

There has been several different definitions given in this thread, also there is no real reason that a definition should go beyond looks. If looks is the driving factor for why mass murderers choose the weapon then it might be worth banning the weapon based on looks to see if that works.

I hate saying it is simple as that. But it really does strike me as simple as that in a lot of cases. It's no different than thug culture being attracted to pit bulls instead of pomeranians.

How about we make a law that all "assault style" rifles must be painted bright pink by the manufacturer to ensure better visibility in public.

Would that make you feel better than banning?

I'm sure someone has the info and if not I'm sure some kind of standardized testing can be devised.

Seems to not know much for a gun owner. I'm sure that's just the responsible nature of gun ownership.
The requirements for owning a weapon is essentially a pulse, and avoiding arrest and conviction.

Can't we have something a bit more on the lavender side? Or pink and lavender camo?

You seem pretty ignorant of the things you own.
yep thats me
sorry, i will go outside and pull the trigger as fast as i can, just to waste ammo, and make you happy
then i will search all over the internet for various mag sizes just to see whats out there. but i would wager they go up to 20, 30, 50, maybe higher

really asking for ROF for a semi auto. its 1 shot per trigger pull.
so 1.
