One time I saw a movie 4 weeks into its run and my GF and I sat in the middle of the theater. Granted there was no one in the theater at the time, so this is like the ideal spot. Another couple came in and sat down right next to us. No buffer room at all. We immediately got up and moved down two rows. Some people just don't have movie theater etiquette.

Another time I went to a movie that came out on Friday but I went to it on Sunday. There was a guy not directly behind me but off to the left. He was in his 50s or so with his wife. He had a conversation with his wife during the entire film. There wasn't a single moment that went by that he wasn't saying something to her. I motioned at them a couple of times. They got quiet for maybe a min and then started up again.

There should be an emergency usher button or something on my seat. I mean I see 40 movie complex employees everytime I go to the theater. How hard is it to have 1 employee stationed within the different theaters? Its a 2way win. He gets to watch a movie and regulate when needed for the happiness of the movie going population.

For me it was seeing the first Matrix film. The person behind us was explaining the entire movie to another person in Chinese. This was particularly annoying since I understood that as well making it harder to block it out.

when i saw war of the worlds, some guy comes in right when the movie starts with 3 kids.

me and my fiance sat in the middle of the theatre, we had 4 spaces open to the left, 2 to the right.

this dood sat right next to my fiance with his stupid kids, he even answered his loud ass ringing phone during the movie and TALKED on it.

that was the last time i went to a normal theatre, i stick to " dollar " theatres now because there is usually a lot of open seats.

My gf and I were watching some movie and this group of high school girls, like 10 of them, kept talking through the whole movie, they wouldn't shut up. I looked at a guy next to me and noticed he was annoyed by it to. Before I could, he got up and told them to shut up or leave.

The same thing happened to my wife and I a few weeks back. We were the only 2 people in the entire auditorium and these 2 people just sit right next to us. Pretty bizarre.

Of course we moved.

When the glue on my cup started to lose it real slow... I didn't really notice at first but by the time we made it into the theatre and I sat down it really started to split. Cue me running out as fast as possible and throwing it at the nearest bin. When I got back in, the guys in front of us tripped up their friend who was carrying a load of popcorn. He went flying and disappeared from view. We were laughing for the next 15 minutes. Then Blair Witch started, OMFG. If I'd had a gun, the people sitting behind could have watched through the hole in my head. The popcorn incident saved the evening from being a total washout.

Oh yeah, went to see American Psycho. We got a bunch of chavs who turned up 5 minutes late, didn't even know what they were watching, just made stupid remarks for 10 minutes - stuff like "hur hur he's teh ghey, skin care, wtf". I got p1ssed when one of them answered a call so I told them to STFU. They tried to get clever about it and asked what I was gonna do about it. Before I could reply some big bloke stood up and said "I'll fvcking make you so STFU like he said". That was a good laugh :D

I don't tolerate BS. I would've turned around completely and say the following loudly for others to hear

"CAN YOU TWO PLEASE STOP. TALKING.? EVERONE in this theatre including me are trying to watch a movie here. Can you STOP talking on REPEATED basis?"

They'll teach them to stfu. Be sure to emphasize 'everyone'. It's all in how you word things to be effective.

When I went to Meet the Fockers with my two friends. Never again will I see any movie with them again. During the whole movie they were talking to each other and wanting to talk to me. Half way through the movie I got up to "use the bathroom" and moved away from them. When we met up at the end, they were mad at me, WTF? It's second to when we saw Dawn of the Dead, and the one was so afraid she covered her freakin eyes the whole movie while the other one would talk to her since she was so afraid. At least during that experience they didn't talk to me.

Why pay $8.50 to see a movie if your going to talk during the fvcking thing? I've sinced refused to even watch DVDs with them because they don't shut up and constantly ask what's going to happen or on starts balancing her checkbook. When I put a movie in it's because I want to watch it and emerse myself in it, not just to light up the room a little.

Valentines day.... by myself. I was just trying to get out of the house... not a good place to go on that day when single.

I've had to deal with the annoying talkers and seat kickers but on one dark day I had the worst movie experience I've ever encountered. My wife and two of our friends went to a movie and had gotten our seats and I was sitting on the outside with 3 empty seats to my left. Right before the movie starts two girls and a guy sit next to us with the guy right by me.

As soon as he sat down a plume of nasty odor greeted my olfactories. The smell was high school lockerish but I couldn't quite put my finger on it, that is I couldn't until 5 mins into the movie numknuts decided to take his sandals off his feet and sit crosslegged with his feet on the seat. The smell hit me like a brick wall and I couldn't hear or see anything from then on as the smell was knocking out my other senses. I tried to breath through my mouth but I could almost start to taste the smell so I leaned as far to my right away from him as I could and the smell it followed me like the paperboy from the old movie "Better Off Dead", trying to collect his two-dollar subscription fee. Then I looked at my oppressor and realized he was actually cleaning toe jam from between his toes, intentionally stirring up the skunk atoms that made up his feet.
It was then that I broke the marine creedo of leave no man behind.

Eyes watering, battered and broken I told my wife I was moving to one of the few remaining seats in the theatre. As I sat in my 2nd row very far left seat I said a small prayer for those I had left behind but also a prayer of thankfulness as my senses slowly began to return.

I worked at a 14 plex theater, on a busy day, yeah there might be 40 people working, but they are generally way to busy to stand in a theater and make sure people are behaving accordingly. and yes, I have walked into theaters, doing theater checks, and quieted people down, people hate it, but its something you have to do. twice I know of people being asked to leave the theater because of talking.

oh, and your idea of a emergency button to call an usher (reminds me of the button on the airplane for the stewardess), that is a bad idea, you can easily get up of your lazy ass, walk out of the theater and get an usher yourself. if you are to lazy to get up and get an usher, or ask someone else to, please STFU

I would and have done the exact same thing to you. You sat in the most optimal position (center, center) seat in a theatre and expect to be left alone? If you want to be alone, sit in the front, near one of the ends, next time.

meh, common courtesy applies here, if someone is directly center, center, sit directly behind them or directly in front of them. that section is about the best

Umm, It would be your lazy ass not doing your job. I paid to be entertained and why should I miss 10mins of a movie to get an usher? Its not a question of being lazy. No one gets up to get an usher because they don't want to miss a vital part of a movie.

Most of them.
Always some sorry fvcker (usually a teenager) making noise or throwing sh1t everywhere. Havent gone since 2000 and I can only assume that cell phone usage has gone up since then.
The only way I would go now is if I took a fat can of pepper spray with me.

The bastard gets exactly one warning before he burns.
