Hmm sounds interesting. Might be hard to force the kid's mouth open if they're really rebellious though.

Jesus fvcking christ. They're all upset over hotsauce? I got my ass whooped as a kid (no beatings, a paddle or something similar was used, along with slaps on the behind and palms of my hand), but now that I'm older (21), I see that I was a little fvcking prick that deserved to be smacked and it made me better.

I thought it was kind of interesting is why I posted it. I had never heard of it. I found it interesting that it was an offense in some states.

my parents used to do this to me when i cursed. tobasco sauce was a b!tch when i was 7 years old.
 

Hot sauce releases endorphins that give you a buzz.
I hope they are using some VERY strong hot sauce.

Better than soap or an ass kicking, I wouldn't have a problem using it. Wouldn't have worked on me as a kid though, I love hot food.

I never had soap, hot sauce or a beating and I turned out to be pretty normal. *shrug*

whatever. my parents either used soap or alum (the stuff used to pickle pickles - it is the most gawdawful-sour-bitter flavor you can imagine, and it stays with you for HOURS) when I got outta line. it wasn't abuse, and i'm grateful (now) that they took the hard line with me rather than let me get off light (and i DID get off light, compared to some kids i kn(e/o)w. i figured out pretty quick that they were serious and that the alum would get brought out - that was enough to make me fly straight at several critical junctures. it wasn't torture, it was simply conditioning (like pavlov's little doggies). they reinforced - i learned.

i'm sick of whiny-ass wimpy parents. grow a pair and quit trying to live voraciously through your kids - just be a fvcking parent...

/ain't having kids

Anything like that that's done with proper reason and moderation is fine...I got spanked like a traditional Chinese kid, and I'm much better for it. I wasn't entirely rebellious, but I also wasn't entirely adhering to the values that my parents tried to instill in me...and now that I'm growing to be an adult (22), I realize how beneficial that respect and those manners are.

That said, I can't say I've heard of hot-saucing...what if you're like sechuan canto and you like that sh*t? :D Or Indian...I have some friends that could drink most hotsauces and pound it with a jalepeno.
