seriously i cannot get photomatix to produce anything like what he can after following his tutorial. the HDR files look queer and tone mapping just brings on a whole new world of absolutely ugly. everything looks like its a mix of extreme posterization and colorization.

Dynamic Photo HDR seems to work a hell of a lot better.

Great thanks. Yeah now that I know about bracketing (found out my d50 could do it too just a few weeks before I ordered my d300) HDR seems easier than I was thinking! Thanks for the links!!
