yes, live at college.

if you live at home it will feel like highschool, you dont want that. you won't live the college life unless you live on campus.

its defintly worth it, move out and live on your own youll learn a lot and have fun.

DO NOT LIVE WITH PARENTS. My girlfriend tried it for a year and it is NOT the environment you want to come home to at the end of the day while everyone else is in the dorms or off campus with their friends.

You'll be missing out on a HUGE aspect of college if you live with your parents. Live on campus your first year, and then move to off campus (i.e. student slum) housing after that if you don't like the dorms.

I had a great time. Lived two hours from home. Played four years of rugby and partied a lot (not enough to get thrown out). I would never go to school and live at home if I had the option to do otherwise.

Living with your parents sucks. There's not much more to say about it.

living in the dorms was the best part. I moved off campus during my last semester and regretted it. So secluded from the rest of "life".

BTW, it wasn't the parties that did it for me... it was just getting to hang out with the same crew whenever you felt like it. Everyone was near each other and friendships formed forever. Nothing like HS.

I liked the dorms all right, but University Housing really stuck in my craw about a couple key issues that ended up really leaving a sour taste in my mouth. I didn't want me or my parents giving money to a place that just didn't care about genuine student concerns, so I moved off campus. But, had I not had those problems, I probably would have stayed another year.

Don't make your decision about which university based on the fact that you want to stay with your parents. I knew plenty of people who stayed "loco" because they weren't prepared to leave home. College is kind of like an evolution of high school. You have a lot more freedom, your hours are flexible but the course work is more involving. I knew a lot of people who did poorly in college because they couldn't handle the freedom. I hated high school and loved/did well in college. It's not what the movies make you think but it's great fun. Enjoy it while it lasts!

yes i agree i LOVE MY PARENTS.. i would not mind to stay with them

but

they limit my freedom and my freedom to act..

like i go out w/ my friends out in the nightlife scene and whatever and i come home like at 2am-4am and they just bug me about everything... like what my other relatives would think of me, or how my cousins are good tooshoe (probabily not) and how you should be more like them

plus they tell me take your friends car dont drive.. so WE WONT GET IN MISERY if something happens (and they dont mention about my life but INSURANCE TROUBLE AND THE MONEY WE WOULD LOSE, how sad you know?)

i mean thats just BS between our friends we share the load of who's taking who's car.. but that shouldnt be my mom's concern.. i own the car, i pay for it therefore i am responsible for my actions not her...

yea i wanted to rant it out

but otherwise i love my parents

I work for my school's police department. Not much adventure here. But the sex is great. And so is the partying. Rugby parties here are generally regarded as the 'best' - but to me, they're just a lot of huge guys seeing who can drink the most. The girls are hot though. :)

The best parties are just 10-20 people you know well and can have fun with, just hanging out and bullshitting the night away with plenty of alcohol to go around. Great times.

yet another vote for "don't live with your parents!"

living semi-independantly in college really prepares you for moving out of the house once you get a real job, and there are tons of experiences to be had in college dorms that you'd never have with your parents are sleeping next door.

Good times, but I now know that if I don't have someone to nag me I'd drown in a pile of my own mess.

Heh, looks like I'll have to get married at some point.

I'm in the middle of my first year living in residence, about 2.5 hours away from home.
There is no way that I would want to live at home and commute to any college/university after having lived here for 4 months.
Plus if you're looking for a more educational reason to go, its good to have people all around in your program so you can work on assignments and study together.

get car, get housemate/rent single room, commute.

being a dormer for 3 years and some months, that is the advice from me.
