[Inspired by this thread]
When you think of all the movies you've watched, what come to mind as the most memorable experiences that really caused you to love movies?
If you had to pick 4 games that are the foundations of YOUR movie watching history, what would they be?
Mine would be:
1. Shawshank Redemption: Nothing but heart, and good old human drama. The bromance of Andy and Red in the end beats all real-life romances.
2. Terminator 2: My #1 childhood movie. I will use the word 'perfect' to describe this masterpiece. It's not just empty action, but has soul. Come to think of it, I can't think of any movie to date that pulled off both aspects of cinema. T3 and TS were absolute joke, I pretend they don't exist/aren't canon. No soundtrack can hit me in the feels like this one.
3. Forrest Gump: Gets me every time. I'm not particularly a big fan of Tom Hanks, but this grave scene... oh man.
4. Something About Mary: I could name another drama or action (Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, etc), but I can't entirely ignore the comedy genre. This movie is a comedy perfection because it's also not a mindless flick. It's got a rather cohesive plot, and humor is just RIGHT on the money- not too low-brow stupid but just edgy enough. No other comedy gets me from start to finish like this. I guess my definition of stupid funny would be like the works of Jay & Silent Bob. Dat Patrick Healy fvkcing gets me.
I would have to mention some classics like The Godfather didn't have a big impact on me because I never watched them until much older.
