My motivation is being outside so I have given up on gyms. I go trail running, mountain biking, or swim laps nearly every day. While I am running or biking I come across certain trees or jungle gyms that are good for upper body workouts. I'll jump on a branch or a pull up bar and do various forms of pull-ups. This one particular jungle gym allows me to work out all kinds of muscle groups in a short amount of time. Then when I can't do anymore I jump on my bike or back on the trail and continue on. Costs me virtually nothing and it's much more fun! :D

Well, I have several reasons.

I like girls to like me, so there's one. Also, I just feel 300% better physically and mentally when I work out. I love to look good in my clothes. Then, I just got a job as a member of a dance entertainment crew, so I have to look good. That's just extra motivation. :)

I'm just curious. I've found that I build muscle pretty quickly, and that when I work out, I see results pretty soon after I start. My problem is that I just can't get into it. No matter how much I try to justify the time, energy, and money I spend on working out, I just can't keep at it.

I'm just unmotivated. I want to be fit, but I need some strong drive to get me there. What's your motivation?

Well... My mom always says that it takes 30 days to form a habit. Whether or not that's true, I dunno, but it seems like if you can stick to a schedule for a month straight, you can do it forever, and working out will just become a good habit.

It's fun for me and being in shape makes me feel better about my self...you have a lot more confidence and energy. Plus, going to the gym is kinda of like a social event, you can meet tons of people there :)

Also, I have to stay in top physical shape if I decide to attempt joining a certain branch of the military ;)

Well, to be honest, I'm not really in shape. I'm pretty skinny, about 135lbs @ 5'9". I really should get in shape though, I have plans for it, but no time right now with work. Knowing me, and espically when I say that, I have a feeling its not going to happen, espically with school coming up.

My motivation for wanting to get in shape is getting a better body so it'll help me out picking up (having sex) some hot chicks to help me get over (revenge) my ex (Long story).

I've recently started to change little by little. More clothing, some more bling, trying to get a better job (still working on it), taking better care of myself, improving my appearance, etc etc. On the list is getting in shape, but as I said earlier, I don't know if its going to happen.

Well, I'm 6'2" 218lbs with a 40" waist (a good bit of fat) and a 53" chest (mostly back muscle, almost no fat).

Yeah, I'm 6'5" 250lbs with a 40" waist & a ~48" chest. I'm not in good cardio shape right now, so I'll have to do some (ugh) running this summer.

I am 6'2" and 169lbs. I am in pretty good cardio shape, but I am trying to lean down some more by cycling an hour a day before I start lifting weights. I am pretty weak though, I can't bench jack squat.

If motivation is a problem, see if you know anyone who you can partner with for better health. A friend of mine is hundreds of miles away, but ribbing each other in IMs about who's benching more (me) or who's flabbier (me again) has been good motivation for me to lift, and is turning into some good motivation for me to work on the diet & exercise end of the spectrum now. Him too.

Presentability. It feels good to look healthy and it also makes it easier to do things. Like walking up staircases / other exercises that you shouldn't get tired from.

exactly. I like the fact that I sleep better. 6 hours while working out as opposed to 8 hours while i don't seems to give me more energy. Also, I am pretyt motivated so i can keep up in the sports I am doing, ie. mountain biking, roller hockey, basketball.

I want to push myself and see how far I can go. Whether it be running a race (usually) or just seeing how many pushups I can do, I am determined to have mind prevail over body, and so my curiosity to see just how far I really go is what motivates me.

I don't want to look in the mirror and see a fatty looking back. Also, I know how cruel people can be and I don't think I can handle the criticisms I would get everyday for being obese.
