In junior high i went out bowling with a bunch of friends. one of the girls i liked and was trying to get with. I lied and said yeah yeah i was an experienced bowler.

Baaaaaaad moove.

First time up, i step over the line on to the greasy part and fall flat on my ass. Everybody laughed at me. They said it's alright dude, shake off the rust.

I didn't get the girl

Asked my mother for a Sega Gamegear for my birthday. B day comes and I unwrap my present and it's some cheap baseball and football Tiger lcd games. She's like "Ok here's your game gear".

The dreams of full color 8 bit animated graphics with Sonic super spins that I had imagined were crushed. I had to wear my glasses just to make out the barely legible black figures on the printed background of the games. It was horrible.

My father getting arrested for a DUI.
Or maybe when I had to call an ambulance after a day full of alcohol poisoning.
Or the time he hit me and I went out cold for 2 minutes.
Or the time mom moved out.

I cant decide.

It wasn't because you lied to impress her or fell flat on your face. She just wasn't all that into you. Srsly, girls tend to like guys who are willing to embarrass themselves to impress them. Did you have the B.O. like so many other nerdy ATOTers?

Going to Vietnam...or else having to jump out of the second floor window of my girlfriend's parents house...because they came home early...kind of a toss up.

As long as you know it was all your fault then we are good.

at age 13 I was in a fire and passed out from smoke inhalation, received 2nd and 3rd degree burns on 80% of my feet and had to relearn how to walk.

Would rather not share that with the world. Involves family member and bad overdose and driving 100 mph in local traffic in my POS beater ford escort to get them to the ER before they die.

My mom died when I was 19, so... that.

Of course, I did stupid embarrassing teenager stuff too. But in retrospect, everybody did and it's ok.

OP, I'm sorry you peaked at 13.

Had a few baseball ones...
Our conference had a message board, and I got into some trash talk with kids from another school. I held my own while I was logged in, but apparently things got nasty after I logged off. They ended up taking the whole website down... Got called in the next day and had to talk to my coaches about it... Was awful and awkward.

The one that hurt me most was at a baseball practice. Coach was deciding who would have the green light to steal bases for the team. He said for anyone who ran under a 4.9 second 40 yard time to move to one side. As I got up to move he stopped me in front of the team and made me go back. I ran, and to this day still run under a 4.9... I don't know why he did that. Was devastating...

Sounds stupid compared to some of the other things here. I've had a pretty easy life...

That happened to my brother in law too. He was on a lacrosse scholarship (they exist in Canada) with prospects of turning pro. He ran out of the burning house and collapsed on the lawn, was in a coma for a while. He lived though. Nice guy, is successful in his work and life too. Couldn't play lacrosse anymore though.
