When doing cardio/etc, what is the maximum heart rate you've ever recorded in BPM?

Using a 15 second x 4 test I have measured it between 50 and 60 many times. Im guessing when pushing myself as hard as I could go as far as I could go it would be around 230-250 max. That seems really high...

edit: my resting heart rate is around 60-65 usually

When I was in track or cross country my heart rate would soar. Occassionally my coaches would force me to wear a heart rate monitor. When it hit 215 or so they'd always make me rest for a while. Those would just be on typical exercising days. When I really worked hard I'm sure I was well above that - probably far into the unhealthy range.

If I was just going all out for a super fast 1 mile run, probably in the very very low 200 range. Normally I'm not sure but I think the 150-180ish range for moderate cardio.

Actually clocked was about 220. But that was just a rough estimate. My recovery time at the height of my cross country years was so fast that I would begin recovering in under 30 seconds so I had to count them in 15 seconds and multiply by 4.

I had a resting heart rate of around 44 at the time.
