Ive consistently used one homepage on all my desktops and laptops since 1998:

Ive been interested in financial news starting around 1980. This was due to Jimmy Carters inflationary economy. We joked about it as 10 year olds.

It was the default answer to any question. Why? Inflation.
 
Opera's speed dial where it gives me a choice of go-to pages. So my start page is exactly what I want it to be when I open the browser. 😉

FF has a similar add-on.

Google. Not that it matters because I only ever open a new browser window maybe once every few weeks. The restart firefox add-on has been handy.
 
My personal homepage on my domain. It has links to my most used pages and some automatically updated daily stuff.
