The BIG stuff: Mine as always, the 6" mortar salutes. The 8" and 12" multibreak shells look more impressive but the sheer thud through town wakes up the car alarms. We can buy eight or more of these Chinese-made 6" salutes for the price of the American-made 8" shells.

The MEDIUM stuff: Charging Wasps (blocks of pop-bottle rockets fused to fire en masse) or Niagara Falls (chains of upside down fountains make a flaming river of fire that lasts several minutes)

The LITTLE stuff: Smoke bombs - It takes a while to get tired of lighting smoke bombs with the kids

3 inch flash mortars are my favorite. Nothing like waking up the whole neighborhood at 3am to the sounds of car alarms and one large explosion.

Classic M-80's for me, hold the booze for now as having less than 10 fingers might hinder my employment. ;)

6"? 8"? 12"?

are you talking about the reports of the shell? the length of them? or the diameter of the shell?

the biggest mortars i could find down here in floriduh were like 1.5 inches in diameter, and vary from 1.5 to 6 inches in length. wtfwtfwtf

If you are interested in doing the big ones then just contact the ATF and your state fire marshall. They'll hook you up with the rules and regs in no time. Just don't wait until June to get the permits. :)

btw - Saw a 16" shell tonight. WOW! Makes the 12" look small. 107 pounds of joy in one shot.
