how good are those refill things anyway? I had an epson and did that.. but it was an espon.. so you get the point.

I'm looking for black ink that's waterproof to use w/ my HP 832c. Color would be nice too, but I don't think they make that.

My ANTI-vote goes to the Xerox XJ6C. I think they were discontinued for a good reason. This thing is like an earthquake. Xerox may make great high-end products, but don't count on them to know witch corner to cut on a dirt cheep product.

My vote goes to HP/Canon. Any HP would be my first pick. If you don't go with HP, Canon can make good printer. I don't have anything to say about Epson except that they are noisy and jerky. I have seen different models all of the name brand I mentioned at work with friends' PCs, so I think I am well in my right to give a general opinion of each name brand.

We have a Lexmark Optra 1855 at work. POne gets used all day long and the other is a backup in case the first one dies. In the time I have been there, it has printed out at least 50,000+ pharmacy labels/reports and jammed only once when some stuff crumpled paper in there 🙂

Have a HP Deskjet 812C and LOVE it. I did alot of research before buying and concluded that this printer (at that time) had the best price to performance ratio. So I bought it, and it works like a champ.

Yep, can't go wrong with a good HP.

canon's seem to go thru ink FAST tho. And the only ink jets that come close to laser are HP and Lexmark. The others i've seen(canon/epson/xerox) just don't cut it.

Oh I'm running a BJC-250🙂 But I really like them laser printers they have at the school. They are pretty damn quick when it comes to print out 20 page webpage articles🙂

the best way to get these refill ink is to mail order them
you cant find them cheap around and they charge at least 50 percent more and they are low quality product
I found plenty at yahoo.co search engine
just look for ink refill, HP ink refill, epson ink refill etc.

I've got an Epson actionlaser 1500, It's kinda loud but will crank
out pages fast. Got it for free (needed a cartridge and the guy didn't
want to spend $95 for a new one) I refilled it for $8..Am I a cheep
geek?-I think so!!...

Another vote for the HP 812C. It has excellent color and sharp black and white. Text almost looks as if it were printed on a laser printer. 😀 HP printers rock!]

A cheap alternative would be Lexmark
thought the quality is worse and slower
I coldn't be happy with it
just couldn't wanted something nicely printed and fast too
It like an HSP modem, software driven instead
You need really fast cpu to use their printer thought
My mom didn't mind so I got here this instead
for 99 with 50 buck rebate so 50 bucks
my mom is cheap she think that I should just use her as well
and don't buy another one
won't work
so I pay another 199.99 for an HP printer that is of the fastest
highest quality, and cheapest of the model
You know she print only text and web stuff that uses little ink
and so far no refill for 6 month

It funny how I printed stuff that look so much nicer then staring tat the monitor.
I also payed like 21 bucks for 4000 sheet of paper
it going to last a life time 🙂
got it at office depot
