What is your favorite nut?

I think I'll go with peanut. I'm a fan of nuts of all kinds, and peanut isn't necessarily my favorite taken alone, but it's highly versatile, and can be used for lots of things.

Roasted salted pecans are really, really, good, but they are hard to find. It's easy to find raw ones but they aren't the easiest to DIY.

I actually like cashews a little better but the nutritional profile of pecans is superior for my use.

I hate hazelnut by itself, but it is my favorite when mixed in something like deserts.

For snacking, almonds and walnuts are the best. Cashews and peanuts are a close second.

Pistachios win cause they can come in a shell, and are amazing that way. Cashews in the shell blister your hands and mouth, and might kill you.

Pistachios especially the red dyed ones were a family gathering stable since I was a wee one. Remember getting red fingers from opening them.

Anyway my list, Shelled Peanut being the best for eating outside or a bar
that makes you drop the shells on the floor.

Peanuts - Shelled
Macadamia - Goddess of the Nut family.
Cashews / Pistachios - I consider them on an equal level
Pecans - because pie.
Almonds - don't like
Walnuts - don't like
Hazelnuts - don't like
Brazil nuts - don't like

we did this once already.

i decided for pistachio. cashews are great but they give you the cashew sickness if you eat too many (same for peanuts). macadamia have that unique flavour but it wears out quickly. pistachios may seem inferior but the truth is that it's hard to find a good quality pistachio, but when you do they are amazing.
