Coolermaster Wavemaster.... If only it had 120mm fans. I'm currently using an Acousticase 6607. Nice and quiet, but cost me $200. :(

haha, i'm really into the compact and elegant case styles. i like the aopen xc cubes, but i hate the fact that their a barebone. i like the aria cuz it looks nice, is small, quiet, and its highly customizable. i'm just waiting for a socket 939 microATX motherboard to come out.

Quite nearly the perfect case for me. If only it had 4 5.25" bays and another 3.5" drive cage, and the side panel didn't require superhuman strenth to remove, it would be perfect.

The Lian Li PC-whatever fulltower looks pretty sweet too, but I've never used it.

For a relative budget case, the Evercase 42x2 series. If money isn't as much of an issue, the Kingwin 424 series. For a compact case, the Athenatech A100 series.
.bh.

Ooops, I forgot. For pure functionality I also like the SLK3700AMB/Compucase 6A19 series. Check it out at coolcases.com .The design is about perfect for a normal midtower case.bh.

Antec Sonata "Piano Black" (closely related to the SLK2700AMB)

Quiet. Elegant. but the LEDs are too bright.

non custom cases (falcon, voodoo, etc,) its hard to choose, i guess the lian li cases are very nice.

just wish they used larger fans.

I have a PC6070B with a 92mm side panel fan and it is packed with a lot of hot components but it runs very cool.

The only case that keeps calling my name is the Coolermaster Wave Master (in Black)...

Do you have one?

I just ordered one, and wonder what your thoughts are on it.

I have one and I've also built about 5-6 systems using them. Here's my official review. To cut to the chase, I think it's the best performing case you can buy, as long as you cut out the fan grills.

I always cut the grilles first thing.

I plan on mounting my HDDs in the 5.25" bays behind my hand-built rheobus, and mounting my radiator there in the bottom.

I have to find some vinyl dye now that will match the finish on the case!!

I know I mentioned that I'm still in love with my Lian Li, but the Antec SLK3700BQE I used for my Intel setup was a wondeful case, too. The 2 x 120mm fans really move some air in there without creating a lot of noise.

I can't find a single fault in my Lian Li PC-608X (has an angled front panel on the left/right sides, not sure on the exact model #)

For those of you who care alot about noise levels, the top exhaust fan can be fairly loud, but the front intakes have a 3-level adjustment switch. I generally keep mine on the middle setting and noise levels are minimal. The construction is excellent, and the brushed aluminum looks great. The LEDs can be a bit bright if you keep the PC in your bedroom (such as myself) and are bothered by such things. I'd probably get a plain old PC-60 if I did it again.

The following features are critical for me:
1. A well made aluminum case (for the weight advantage and look, not the heat dissipation which is mainly a myth)
2. A removable motherboard tray
3. A way to seperate HDD/Power LEDs etc. from the motherboard without unplugging the individual leads
4. Thumbscrews, as many as I can get (where are my 5.25 inch bay thumbscrews?)
5. Adequite ventilation, (2 intakes, one rear and one top exhaust fan in the case of this model)
6. Easily accessibile intake filter that is easy to clean.

And recommended:
1. Plastic guards on all sharp edges within the case to prevent injury
2. removable HDD cage (via thumbscrews)

the Lian Li I have covers all of these areas (except the thumbscrews for smaller threaded drives (5.25))

I'm looking forward to seeing their BTX options in about a year or so when I plan to switch over to an Athlon 64/BTX/PCI-E system

1. weight advantage doesn't work out. A good aluminum case is very thick, and once you put a few compontents in, you'd be hard-pressed to tell a difference. Looks I will grant, though...alumnium cases just look slick.
2. Few cases have these. Several, like the e4252 and SLK3700-xxx have enough room in the right places that even changing CPUs and such can be done w/ the mobo in place. The few I know of that have trays are aluminum...what's w/ that? Aluminum cases should be worse for that and need more support!
3. Soldering iron and misc. parts can get this done fine. I'l look at somewhere like All Electronics for headers and connectors to make a plug for them, so you can unplug that and be done w/ it, and so it will work later w/ a different mobo.
4. Buy thumbscrews separately. The best are these, brass, easy to use, tool-less, and don't get stuck hard like aluminum and steel ones.
5. Coolermaster's got you there. Front intakes, as you can tell by the e4252 and SLK3700, don't need to be numbered! There just needs to be space in the front.
6. Don't know here. The Praetorian looks to have a grill. If it doesn't have a filter, it probably wouldn't be hard to add one.

I have yet to see a Lian-li with plenty of intake room, excepting their server towers, which have plenty and filters.
