Dream job: Filmmaker

I was into really into art up until I graduated high school & discovered the job market for artists could be pretty tough. I got into computers through art (needed to upgrade my PC for POV-RAY) & decided to shoot for an IT Admin job. Been doing IT for about 10 years now. I enjoy it, but I think I've pretty much had my fill of doing computers professionally & would like to do something more creative. It's a stable job & the market for IT guys is good because we're like HVAC or plumbing guys now...you always need one in businesses these days.

I've always enjoyed watching movies & playing with camcorders, but never thought I could actually be a filmmaker. But the market has shifted a lot...film tools have been democratized. You could buy a great camera like the Blackmagic for a few thousand dollars. You can edit a feature film on a home computer these days. You can keep it all digital too - record to memory cards & edit on a hard drive. Toshiba's new 5-terabyte drive was on sale for $199 the other day, so storage isn't even an issue anymore. Web distribution is huge & you can get an audience anywhere these days; I have a little video I shot on my iPhone a few years back that has 100k views with no advertising whatsoever. It's a lot more approachable these days, thanks to technology!

Dream Job: Own/Run consulting business. VC.

Next step for me is consulting for computer services. Infrastructure, repair, analysis, deployment etc. Well on my way but we will see. I'm still a young guy (24) so plenty of time. And I love what I do. Deal with some political stuff but love working with the tech and the new challenges I face every day. I literally get to handle and learn everything we deploy. It runs through me at some point and I've become the defacto office expert. I'm by no means a pro in a lot but know enough.

Dream job: Self employed and created something that rakes in cash with very little continuous effort. Something like coding a game or something.

Need to learn mobile app development. If games like Candycrush really bring in the money I hear about, that would pretty much be my dream job.

Though I like my current job, so probably why I lack the motivation to work on my own gig.
