I'm just about to graduate and am looking at full time positions. Just wondering what some cool companies are that are out there and also say why you would want to work there and what they do.

Well, ideally I would be a river guide for a whitewater kayaking tour company.
I've really only worked for two companies. One of them was the media conglomerate Bloomberg, LP. Yes, the mayor's ship.
It's a very cool place to work. Full of fish tanks, free food, 2 flat panels and a CRT on every desk (sometimes more!) very modern, ergonomic facilities (Aeron chairs!) awesome holiday party at the American Museum of Natural History, you never pay a dime for insurance, even if you need a surgery or whatnot that won't be covered by insurance, the company will cover you. They have a good profit sharing plan, too.
It was seriously a great place to work. The only drawback is that all these "perks" come at a salary penalty. If a certain chain of events hadn't lead to a hiring freeze the day before my interview, I'd be getting $10k less than my job here.
But it's a cool place to work.

For myself, and my yet to be formed business venture. One problem though...need venture capital. And lots of it

For a backup company, I'd work for edmunds as a car reviewer.
