What is your definition of failure?

When I asked what everyone's greatest fear is, several people answered 'failure.' What is your definition of failure.

To me I don't think I've failed in life on a whole unless I find myself extremely unhappy. I've never really thought about failure mainly because I don't think I've set any real goals that I can fail in. I tend to just go with the flow and if things aren't going my way, I just adjust accordingly.

it's not having that desire to get back up and keep pushing on when someone puts you down or prevents you from doing something

Failure is not having a job that you enjoy and that generates enough income for you to live happily.

Failure is also not having a spouse and kids.

Would you also be considered a failure if you don¡¦t know what career you want to pursue? You think something would be uninteresting so you automatically rule it out even though you haven¡¦t tried it.

Failure is not having a job that you like and a person to love. I also think it is living your life and never making a difference or never contributing to society.

Failure is simply not giving 100% effort to any given goal; even if the preferred outcome of the goal is not achieved.
