Measure heart rate in beats per minute by recording the number of beats in 10 or 15 seconds and multiply by 6 or 4 respectively.
Please don't respond if you're on a stimulant or depressant, or any other CNS drug.

I'm wondering what most people's heart rate is at rest.
Mine commonly jumps up to 100-120bpm when I'm resting. I'm wondering if I have anxiety, or it's just normal flucutations throughout the day.

added <60bpm

your poll listing's low end is too high. People easily can have resting HRs of 50s and 40s and perhaps 30 if they're an elite athlete.

100-120 is abnormal but clinically theres no way to tell the reason why you're having such fast HRs. Could jsut be you're out of shape

Normal resting heart rate for an adult is between 60 and 100bpm. Mine is 72bpm at the moment, pretty much normal for me.

Damn there's something really wrong with me.
Well my heart rate is at 96 right now.
I just finished eating, and I feel slightly nauseous. I get this often after I eat.
I also get coughs when my heart rate is elevated. It's been happening for months.

66, and I never excercise. I have been sitting on my ass all day though.

Edit: I remember back in one of my HS science classes we measured our resting heart rates and then walked up and down some flights of stairs a few times and measured again. I forgot what my numbers were, but they were significantly lower than some of the athletes in my class (I played no sports in HS). My resting rate was normal though.

you need to go see a doc ASAP, my guess is high blood pressure, or thyroid problem, or diabetes...or all 3! :Q
