Wut? In no way is a PhD candidate considered an expert by default. Even a PhD graduate wouldn't necessarily be considered an expert, but a student? No.

Dated a girl that worked at the V.A. Watched her draw a tube from a vein(not visible) in a guys finger. How she felt it with gloves on is beyond me.Was quite good at dropping in arterial lines into quite difficult spots.... drawing blood from anywhere/anytime was cake.
