What is wrong with my computer?

I'll try to keep the story leading up until now as short as possible... My computer is about 1.5 years old and a couple of months ago it started freezing frequently. After removing my RAM to check each stick to see if one was faulty, Windows would not load anymore with any stick in any slot. I little screen on the monitor about not receiving a signal, and that is it. Not sure what the problem was, so I bought a new Thermaltake PSU to replace my old generic one, and bought a new stick of memory. That didn't solve the problem, and Windows will still not load.

So my question is, what else could be wrong? Is my mobo bad? Graphics card? Or what?

School just started and I need my computer, so if anyone has any thoughts, I would be my obliged to hear them. Thanks.

if u can try to swap out the mobo and or the cpu....frequent puter lock ups r normaly related to overheating (among other things)...but i would deffinetly start with the mobo/cpu swap..

good luck

I would swap out your mobo and GFX card if you have spares, to ID the problem. If your computer has onboard video, try that instead of your card. It should eliminate one of the two possibilites. After you ID it, run memtest86+ to check your RAM.

Do you have the motherboard set up for dual-channel ram? I guess there's an outside chance that could be why it's not booting up with one stick... Is there any time it tends to lock up on you? During gaming perhaps? What are the system's specs?

Sorry for the delay in response. I haven't been able to get on a computer for very long lately.

It turns on, but that is it. All I get is the monitor telling me that there is no input signal. I do have onboard video so I will pull out my graphics card and check that.

It freezes on startup, and when I restart it takes a little longer to freeze, etc...

I have tested the memory with memtest86+ using my parent's computer and both sticks are fine. Both sticks of RAM are in now, and nothing changes.

Specs:
2600+ xp
nforce 2 mobo
1 gig Corsair pc3200 XMS
ti4200 128 mb 8x AGP
brand new Thermaltake 480w PSU
