What is wrong with my computer? Weird graphics

Screenshot I managed to take before it died. I have no clue whats wrong. I did just install vista 64x service pack 2. I tried to restore to that save point but it didn't help. The computer turns on, graphics are like in the screenshot, and within a few minutes it will just go blank. I would be in great debt to anyone who can help me.
 
Update teh drivers. If that doesn't help then likly the card is overheating or may even have issues with its RAM.
 
Not sure I could even update the drivers if I tried, the computer doesn't seem to work for long enough. Also, I think I just updated them a couple weeks ago.

Is it possible that the card could start suddenly overheating? It's been fine for quite a while. 8800gtx I believe, can't remember exactly to be honest.

Any way to check the ram? I am really stumped here
 
I can't get in at all anymore. I'm trying to swap in another 8800gt I have. It looks fine until what normally would be the login screen but the screen is just black with the mouse cursor. I guess a driver issue maybe. old card was an evga 8800 gts, replacement is a bfg 8800gt. Safe mode doesn't work with that either
